Although she may not have reasoned it out clearly, it appears that she intuited that ***king is a poor substitute for comprehensive, life-giving love. Unfortunately, she (like many others) seems to have imagined that the solution to her emptiness was more varied ***king, rather than something categorically different.

I mean....four.....what was the problem? If she’d never had any but the one, what’s the problem and what’s that got to do with no children? It just seems like a strange statement.
