Obama Says He Told Netanyahu That Talk Before Election Hurt the Peace Process

WASHINGTON — President Obama said he has told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the Israeli leader’s remarks in the closing days of his re-election campaign had upended the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and ran counter to the very nature of Israeli democracy, an unusually forceful and public condemnation of the top official of a vital United States ally.

In his first public comments on the matter since Mr. Netanyahu’s victory in Tuesday’s elections, Mr. Obama said the prime minister’s pre-election statement that there would be no Palestinian state on his watch had all but foreclosed the chance for negotiations to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“I indicated to him that given his statements prior to the election, it is going to be hard to find a path where people are seriously believing that negotiations are possible,” Mr. Obama said in a videotaped interview with The Huffington Post conducted on Friday and released on Saturday.

I have often wondered what Obama did with the plaque Harry Truman had on the desk in the Oval Office. You know the one,the one that says "The Buck Stops Here"......I suspect it was returned to the Truman Library about the same time Churchill's bust was returned back to England. The "Buck" does not nor has ever stopped with this lazy, ignorant SOB.

I think everyone understands that there can never be peace, as in coexistence without violence. Therefore they named the ongoing “negotiations” the peace process. It is a fiction, maintained for liberal political fantasies.

You mean the "peace process" that starts with the Pali's agreeing to be nice in exchange for a boatload of foreign aid to build schools and hospitals, then using them to launch rocket attacks against Israel until they get sick of it and retaliate, and then it starts all over again.

So... what? All the troubles in the Mideast are a result of Netanyahu talking against Obama's wishes?

Israel is the only nation in the world that can't let its citizens build houses on its territory, and who's leader can't speak freely unless other leaders give their permission.

How many wars have started and ended? How many countries have been born and died. How many inventions and scientific breakthroughs have occurred since this “peace process” has started? Perhaps people should get a clue that if there was ever going to be peace it would have happened generations ago, the world has changed and moved in hundreds of times in thousands of different ways, yet the conflict drags on and on right back where it started 70 years ago, and it ain’t because of dem jooooooos.

Really?

What arrogance, for this guy to try to influence Israel’s elections, and then to go on to blame Israel because the people voted for security instead of appeasement.

The Israeli need for strong leadership that stands up to threats rather than opening the doors and telling enemies to take what they want is arguably stronger than the American need for the same.
