Gravity is provable. Question: How many different formulas and ‘theories’ are there? Answer: ONE.
How many varying/differet/unresolved variables and or coefficients to ‘tweak the model’ are there? Answer: NONE

On the other hand - there are a wide number of different Global Warming Models, with a wide number of different assumptions as to ‘forcing functions’, what other factors and how significant (or insignificant) are the factors, etc.

The science on Global warming will be ‘settled’ when there is a SINGLE model that the majority of scientist accept, and that model can be used to explain the temperature 2000 years ago, 1000 years ago, 500 years ago...before anyone would accept that the model can predict what the temperatures are likely to be in 20 to 50 years. At present, NONE of the models can even explain the cooling (1400’s to 1800’s) to include mini-Ice age that occurred in the 1600’s.

“Gravity is provable.”

My point was that GOD is responsible for the laws of nature, and that would be disputed on it’s face.

Going further, there are theories being advanced by some quantum physics’s that there an infinite number of parallel universes where even our laws of physics break down. So in that regard even “gravity” isn’t provable or a settled science.

Your critique of climate modeling is more sound than your understanding of gravity.

How many theories of gravity are there? Well there was Aristotle’s which was wrong, Newton’s which is approximately right (close enough for most earthbound engineering projects), and Einstein’s which is even better since it gets things like the precession of the orbit of Mercury right and predicts the existence of black holes, which observationally seem to exist. But it probably isn’t really right either — there are adequate reasons to believe that the really correct theory of gravity is a quantum theory not a classical theory — so there’s also Rovelli’s correction of the Barrett-Crane model and loop quantum gravity (favored by Smolin) competing to give the needed correction. (Which might end up dispensing with the need for “dark matter” and “dark energy” to explain anomalous gravitational observations of the universe in bulk that can’t be accounted for with Einstein’s theory and the matter we all know and love.)
