No but like porn I don’t need a definition to know it when I see it. The words he uses most by far are “me, I and my”
The instrument has yet been invented to measure my absolute lack of giving a flying rat’s ass what Obama thinks about a character who inspired thousands (Maybe even millions) of people to reach for the stars via the space program and the word processor and/or devoting themselves to furthering the sciences to get us there.
The original Spock as Gene Roddenberry wrote was the epitome of a conservative. Gene Roddenberry was ex LAPD and Spock character is based on LAPD Chief Parker a conservative in the Thomas Dewey mold
While Roddenberry himself was a liberal of the time he admire the conservative Parker logic and absolute integrity but also saw him as sometimes cold blooded and a bit of a tight ass .....you see this in Spock in the first two years of the original series.
Spock was originally written as a WASP/ William F Buckley like conservative...Spock was a more ambivalent character in the writing early on.. and portrayed as having a repressed nature..as do all Vulcans
..
Well not exactly. After all, he'd name it after himself...
“Get a life, will you people!”
Wow! That doctor explains Obama completely.
Ted Baxter, Frazier Crane, all of the Seinfeld and Friends gang and (I assume) most of the How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory characters were jerks, yet a lot of the country loved them.
Say what you will about Spock, you could always laugh at his attitudes. In contrast to Alan Alda's Hawkeye, say, you weren't expected to take Spock's views seriously.
Continetti's comparison of Spock and Obama shows some insight. There is something odd and off-kilter about both the Vulcan and the Kenyan. But note that a similar comparison circulated during a previous administration.
You would have to remind me. That arrogant smarmy preachy hypocrite seared my brain for years.
I’d bet 0bama wouldn’t know a Tribble from a toenail. And if his ‘wife’ wasn’t a Wookiee, he wouldn’t know anything of Star Wars, either... He’ s just a bandwagon-jumper sniffing up a little camera time.
Good post. I never knew that.
BTW, wasn’t WFB Catholic?
Spock was scrupulously information and logic based in his actions.
That means he was no liberal!
Maybe Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation, but he is about eight times smarter than Obama. :)
"Herbert!"
Regards,
Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, obama is the least human.
Saw about 10 minutes of Startreck when it first came out and never looked at again, it was the most childish hokey thing I ever looked at.
Ah, I couldn't stand Star Trek: TNG. It was steeped in political correctness, with too many of the plots either pushing some liberal pipe-dream or portraying the realization of some liberal fear-monger tactic. Often, the situations that came straight out of liberal fantasizing made no logical sense. For instance, there was an episode where a planet was dying, and the people living there wanted to make some sort of memorial in case anyone ever came by... but the situation that caused the planet to be dying was never explained adequately, and what little info there was made no sense. And Picard was so annoying--I just wanted to yell at him "Grow a pair!" (CAPT Janeway was far more manly!)
That was the only series out of the franchise that I actively disliked.
Indeed. It is quite possible that seeing Spock in action when I was just six years old, and being so impressed by his absolutely logical (intelligent) thinking process set me on the road to eventually get a PhD and work to increase the knowledge of the human race. He was always my hero!
Great point.
Fascinating.
