When Lenin stated hus quote about the capitalist selling the rope they will be hung with he was accurate about China. I am sure in order for Airbus and Boeing to sell commercial jets to China technological transfers were part of the deal. Now China will use legal and illegal transfers to compete against Boeing and Airbus. Another company that could in trouble is Brazilian Embraer which makes single aisle commerical jets.

I have no problem taking aircraft made in the US.In fact I strongly *prefer* Boeing.I have no fears taking aircraft made in Europe.I'd trust aircraft made in Japan and maybe even (South) Korea. But China? Brazil? Elsewhere?
No way,Jose!

The overhead bins are Boeing, circa 1985. My gut tells me they won’t get an FAA Airworthiness Certificate any time soon.
If their planes are like their indigenous cars, expect many, many, fatalities.

Wikipedia says tires, engines and avionics to be sourced from existing European/ American suppliers. Likely until they can come up with chinese engines, avionics and tires that won’t cause it to skid off the runway or fall out of the sky.

The C919, built by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), will be the country's most ambitious effort to date to break into the global aircraft market. It'll leave you wanting to fly again, an hour later.

Bombarier’s new twin jet is much more of a threat in the market than this aircraft.
