When I saw Carol’s interview my first thought was. “wise as a serpent-gentle as a dove”. Carol has years of experience in this behaviour to survive being married to Ed.

One thing nobody mentioned was how Aholes search party from before lost four people. Weren’t there FOUR rotters at the house outside the gate that Rick and son dispatched?

I did notice the wolf comic but didn’t think the girl was a spy but it makes sense... I did wonder if there as a connection

I got really skeeved out when she(whats her name-Diane?)said she was a congresscritter-my first thought was some DC elites “exiled” the original occupants of this planned off the grid liberal utopia.

I think Aiden is intentionally putting the stronger people in harm’s way. He is a colossal douche and probably wants to hold onto his position.

I think Daryl’s going to be toast pretty soon. The underlying reason would be that he didn’t toe the line and fall in with the rest of “society”. At this point it might not even be about insecurity or feeling like a second class citizen. I think now it’s really about knowing what reality is and standing one’s ground and remaining authentic.

Daryl will die for his rugged individualism

Society does not treat rugged individual types well

Yes, that's a great point. In fact, in one episode I think she told Rick about routinely lying to ER staff about her various injuries and broken bones.

I think you might be right. She didn't say WHY they were exiled, did she?

"I did notice the wolf comic but didn’t think the girl was a spy but it makes sense... I did wonder if there as a connection"

Yep, I'm not clear on a lot of stuff from the comics, and I'm reserving judgement on the girl.

"I got really skeeved out when she(whats her name-Diane?)said she was a congresscritter-my first thought was some DC elites “exiled” the original occupants of this planned off the grid liberal utopia."

Deanna...yes, Democrat or Republican, I wouldn't trust her. She's smooth, I give her that.

"I think Aiden is intentionally putting the stronger people in harm’s way. He is a colossal douche and probably wants to hold onto his position."

I love Glenn for laying that jerk out. Michonne was like, "Do you want to end up on your butt again?" LOL. I don't think Aidan would want to mess with Rick or Daryl, or possibly Abraham.

Like I posted a moment ago, I think he's playing a part, just like Carol. His reaction to Alexandria seemed just a little too over-the-top to be real. He was aggressive and anti-social around the Alexandria people, and stormed off furiously when Rick was made constable. But later that evening, he was fine with it.

Well, not normal society. But in the post-apocalyptic world, rugged individualism is what keeps you alive.

Since the Governer was killed I think Carol has become the most interesting character on the show. Her transformation has been so complete - from clingy, battered wife to total ruthless survivor. And I mean that in a good way. Carol was the first to figure out that you get rid of all the old rules in this new world and do whatever you have to do to survive. Her survival instinct is well honed and intantaneous. She went into her role immediately upon entering Alexandria and pretended to be frail and weak when trying to get her rifle off and "struggling" with the sling as if she just didn't know how to handle the big ole gun. Her ruse during the interview was brilliant.

I know lots of people complain but I think this show just gets better and better and I can wait for each new episode. I also think the tone for the forseeable future was set with Rick's two speeches - the "we are the walking dead - we survive" speech in the barn during the storm and his interview with the congressperson when he very subtlely hinted that she was crazy for letting them in and basically describing what his group had faced and what they had become "They size you up only to determine what they can take from you".
