Young people shoveling snow for neighbors, a lost tradition.
Even when a neighbor will pay $$, kids aren’t interested.
It’s a sad reflection on the youth of today, glad this young man did what he did and as such is a leader in his age group.
Yes but isn’t it sad that what should be normal is exceptional?
Then again, maybe there is some hope.
Next story is that the local “authorities” will fine him for shoveling snow for hire without a permit. Then OSHA and DOL will be coming around for him working an without proper PPE and DOL will fine him for not having a union card or something. Next comes IRS because he did not pay income tax, FUTA or SUTA.
He is screwed because no good deed in this country goes unpunished. The feds know where he lives and what he looks like. He will be hunted down like a dog.

I blame the parents
It gives some sign of hope for the future that there kids like this in our country.

I hope the kid had his business license on him. Who does he think he is taking away jobs from the snow-shovelling workers. Did he have OSHA approved safety gear, and take the required warm-up breaks to avoid frostbite?
I was just in a neighborhood and saw an old guy with a cane walking VERY slowing go out and bring his empty trash can back to his house. I watched for a bit and was tempted to offer some help.
But - he looked like he had it under control, it was a nice day, and I didn’t want to offend him. Heck - it might be the only time he gets outside all day.
I am so sick and tired of these kinds of headlines. What happened to headlines that didn’t gush with emotion and beg you to click on it?
