I’ve been into song lyrics and music in general so long I don’t even remember when it happened-so has my bro-since mom and dad were into it, too, I’m sure it is a learned behavior. If I don’t like the sound-like rap/hiphop or a lot of pop tunes, I won’t bother to listen to it, so I don’t know those lyrics-I just imprint the ones from music I like.
But music-especially rock/hard rock-even heavy rock-and metal-is therapy for me-I jam to it, dance sometimes, sing along, let it take the stress away or motivate me, if that’s what I need. The stereo is always blasting when I’m in my vehicle.
I have early memories of weekend trips to the city, staying in a hotel overnight and being taken to a symphony or an opera-the stereo was on in our house all the time, playing rock and roll, too-I was given a radio as a b-day present, and kept it on low all night-I still do that.
When I was a teenager I was into it all, not so much now.
