In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of Word for the Day.
Vilipend
Tr. Verb
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....

No. And yes. (First released in 1967 in UK. Re-released in 1972 in UK and US.)
But I have impeccable taste.
RIP Leonard Nimoy. LLAP
I was just out to lunch, when a patient I had recently walked in. She had been having problems, was admitted and had a stent put in. She is out of the hospital and looking great now. They insisted on buying my lunch. We had a nice chat. They know my daughter well, her granddaughter was at my house a lot through high school. It’s nice to be appreciated.
It looks like blue and black to me, seen in varied lighting.
I’ve always found that song vaguely depressing...
[Obama, should the Supremes rule against him RE the Federal subsidies:]
“Ve zimply vilipend zis provision to ze ACA, and you vill like it!’
It is 34, with light drizzle, no snow-just damp and cold-I’m glad I got the grocery shopping done yesterday-I was able to just go cover everything up at work earlier before the rain started...
Every one of Obama’s minions
Just seem to naturally lean
Toward either nasty or stupid
Or maybe somewhere in between
Holder never met any person
He would hesitate to vilipend
You’d think an attorney general
Had a better message to sent
While Marie Harf makes me barf
She is really a clueless tool-
Every time she opens her mouth
She looks like more of a fool...
I’m sad to see that Leonard Nimoy is gone-I’ve thought of him as Spock since the original Star Trek when I was in my mid/late teens-hard to think we will never see the original Spock in a Star Trek again...
These illusions are always intriguing
In the above for example, most people perceive that squares A & B are not the same.
Not the same size, or not the same color? They look the same size to me, and B is obviously a lighter color.
Welcome to the dark side. LOL
(Get it, we literally see the darkness?)
Rather unforch that jihadi John was photographed in a Pgh pirates cap....
I consider myself a glass half empty type person yet it looks light to me.
I got it-and I’ve been accused by some pollyanna relatives of always seeing the darkness first since I was about 4 or 5-I was cynical and fatalistic even as a small child...
Her cackle would stun the wicked witch-Hillary should never laugh in public-never, never, ever...
OK, I am babysitting again tonight. DH arranged a few weeks ago for my to watch a coworker’s son. I am still on antibiotics from that event, as he was sick when he came. Now he has offered my services tonight to watch him so they can go out for their birthday dinner. I watched him Valentine’s night, too. I have a headache from this sinus infection and DH will not even be here to help. Grrrrrrrr.
Is that not just like a man? Show up wearing a face mask, and keep the thing on. Carry some antiseptic spray, too-the parents might be inclined to cut their little party short. Are there no reliable teens/young adults to babysit, or is that now considered a demeaning job by the catered-to young?
Obama can’t help himself
can’t put his sarcasm on a shelf
He is prone to vilipend
unpleasant to the end
like an energizer pukey little elf.
Okay-it is a lighter shade of gray, not a different color, if I must be literal...
That is an unattractive visual-I like the cute bunny much better...
