We may get the F-35 Lightning 11 but all indications are that it is a multi-mission lawn dart that can’t climb, turn, speed and carry sufficient ordinance. A milti-role POS that can’t compete with existing craft. Dust off the F-14 and upgrade then we will have a chance.

the Europeans might regret that buying from Russia when T-90s roll down the streets of Paris and Berlin. The good news—they will bring back church worship—don’t go to church—no ration card for food. They will solve the Islamic problem too—lots of room in Siberia for new “Settlers”. Russians will like warm places to vacation—and all the stuff they westerners have. Better learn to speak Russian!

That is exactly my point.

America is paying for the Chinese military.

Thank you. That is exactly the point.

I do not think that China wants a war with its cash cow, namely, the USA. ;-)

Their economy would come to a screeching halt.........

Well, numerically they have more if you include their old 1960 vintage Ming diesel/electric boats..

But, if you look at the newer Songs (1990s), Kilos (2000s), and Yuan (2010s) diesel electric subs, and then add the six to eight 091 and 093 SSNs...it is not a greater number at all.

All of the US attack subs are nuclear attack subs...and all of the US nuclear subs are more advanced than the Chinese 091s and newer 093s. The Flight III Los Angeles boats are a generation more advanced. The Sea Wolfs and Virginias are two and three generations more advanced.

so...there is a bit of hype in this particular report.

Now...the Chinese are rapidly building up near technical parity in some of their surface combatants...and in fact, their new corvettes which are directly situated against our LCS, are more cable than the LCS they would have to face.

They are building new surface combatants at a HUGE pace and we need to be very aware of that.

A Communist country's economy is a an artificial construct that cannot grind to a halt.

If you no longer have foreign contracts (US) to keep your plants in production, you can no longer provide jobs for your state employees.

If you can not provide jobs for your state workers, they can no longer purchase food to feed their families.

Without their primary income coming from the US, they can not purchase the necessary fuels to run their energy needs or fuel their economy.

China is the largest importer of oil in the world, shut down their ability to purchase and their suppliers and China is dead in the water on all fronts.

Yet, I am certain that China would swap its submarine fleet for the U.S.

Comrade you have never lived in a Communist country. Too keep people "busy" they build entire empty cities in China.

If you can not provide jobs for your state workers, they can no longer purchase food to feed their families.

Work can cease to be voluntary Comrade.

Gulags don't have much in the way of heat.

Cars? they'll go back to ox carts and bicycles.
