lol...She definitely had her superstitions and oddities passed down from a different time, but not into voodoo probably. She never got on a plane. She went to see them by train. My grandpa got to visit us here in the U.S. in the 80s. First time he ever got to be on a plane. I think he was quite in awe over it all and so were the relatives back home. And yes, he brought his English hygiene with him. I remember my mom buying him some deodorant. We had a heat-wave here in Colorado that summer. English people are NOT used to heat. He always wore a shirt, vest, tie and overcoat. 90 degree heat and his English modesty and style was out the window. I have pictures of him in his wife beater undershirt helping to wash my mom’s car. :)

I think those characteristics do get passed down in the DNA. Love your FR name, BTW.
Where we didn’t have running hot water we would put the soapy dishes in the drainer and then pour on a large hot teakettle full of water to rinse
lol...I had a Welsh aunt-in-law and couldn’t understand a word she was saying. The English weren’t as hard for me, but some of the accents do take some intent listening.

A person who lives in the country in a cold climate showering every other day is one thing, not bathing before getting on an airliner seems mental.

As a red-blooded hetero male, I find the scent of pheromone-rich female sweat to be intoxicating.

Consider that I am a lot older than most of you...
When we were little, we only washed our hair once a week, and we had to use a vinegar and water rinse to make sure we could get all the soap film out of our hair.
On a recent visit to my doc, he ordered a Vit. D level test to make sure I wasn’t deficient. Many of us elderly living in the northern states do not get enough.
He questioned me about my showering habits, and said that it wasn’t a good idea to shower too often, as it washed Vit. D off the skin. I was surprised.
So, there may be something to not lathering up every day, unless one has been plowing the north 40, or toiling away in the coal mine.
I do wonder about a lot of the chemicals that are in modern shampoos, lotions, and soaps. Could they be harmful to our overall health when used so frequently over a long period of time?
Definitely think there are good arguments on both sides.
Vinegar has so many wonderful uses...internally and externally.
Ick. Everybody’s armpits, butt, and genitals get funky after 24 hours, whether or not it is, as the writer claims, inconvenient to shower.
