And some Boston residents have taken the opportunity to engage in potentially deadly stunts - leaping from windows and high decks onto snow piles.
Now, Mayor Martin Walsh has publicly scolded those filmed participating in the jumps, saying: 'This isnt Loon Mountain. This is the city of Boston.'

Sounds like great fun, Mayor Kiljoy.
Knew you we Minnesotan when you called a Ranch a Rambler
“Having fun will not be tolerated”
OK. Headfirst is really stupid. But I know of people who, in years past, might have ridden banana bikes off roofs in Leadville Colorado into snow banks. I’ve heard the landing was awesome. And king of the mountain on a 20’ high snow bank is pretty cool—it involves a lot of falling. Someone might even hurt themselves.
We jumped off my back roof into ten feet of snow right after the Blizzard of 78’. We didn’t land on anything because.....we knew there was nothing under the snow. It was, after all. My backyard.
Gov't chastising people for having fun is?
Da mayor, Walsh, is no Lewis Carroll with his attempt at word play, imho.
Loons personified, to me, are in government and academia.
“Why would a Boston Mayor care? He or his predecessor didnt care about his goons going house-by-house to illegally search for some Muslim Terrorists that they should have stopped before their handiwork even started.”

No house-to-house search took place in Boston.
.
I'm pretty sure that is the unofficial Massachusetts state motto.
That's one of the more fascinating tales of industrial history I've read lately. Amazing I'd never heard of that event. Thanks for posting the link!
Just wait until this weekend when the rains come followed by a flash freeze.
Mr. Mayor, roof jumpers are going to be the least of your concerns. Step away from the podium, grab a shovel, and get cracking on the storm drains.
That was my first reaction, too. When the "lake effect" snow piled up as high as the roof of our chicken house, it would have been perfectly safe, and probably a lot of fun. Too bad I didn't think of it back then.
You’re welcome! I read it about it in a magazine as a kid, a very long time ago. Some things you just don’t forget.
Ok. Stick on city limits then. metro/surrounding Boston. It happened.
The person that wrote the headline is an idiot. The mayor is not calling the citizen “loons”, he is referring to “Loon Mountain”, a ski resort in the area.
