VIDEO: Is the 2nd Amendment Only For Muskets?! Well, Idiots...
http://louderwithcrowder.com ^ | 02/10/15 | Steven Crowder

Liberals have claimed for years that the 2nd amendment was invented in the times of mere muskets, that it doesn’t apply to today’s weapons! The only problem with that, is that weaponry was far more advanced than leftists realize, and the founding fathers addressed this a LOOOONG time ago.

Watch the only rebuttal to this argument that you’ll ever need to see! ;)

Bro, I often find myself agreeing with you over the years, but I always viewed your posts as a little dark.

Now I understand, you were nowhere dark enough.

History and human nature tends to be pretty dark. To paraphrase Margaret Thatcher, our struggle against that darkness is our glory and our salvation.

It’s like saying the 1st amendment doesn’t cover the internet or electronic speech/TV becuase all they had in the day was print papers.

How times have changed in my country:

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it!" -- Evelyn Beatrice Hall

"I disapprove of what you say, and I will defend to YOUR death MY right censor it!!" -- Federal Communication Commission, Federal Election Commission, and Barack Obama.

From what I’ve read, the best rifle was the British Ferguson Rifle.

That's racist.

And I am a gun owner. Multiple. I’m just not necessarily an “enthusiast.”

BTW, a sillier aside:

I often get called a 'gun nut'. I correct: "I am not a gun nut. A gun nut is something you screw on to a gun bolt to keep a gun part in place. I am a firearms enthusiast."

:)

And I am a gun owner. Multiple. I’m just not necessarily an “enthusiast.” I enjoy good guns that work well, and shoot on occasion. That’s about the extent of it.

I hear ya, FRiend.
BTW, if you're ever in the Denver area, please let me know. I can take you to the range that my Wife and I go to, and you can fire my .45ACP pistol with a silencer. I just got my tax stamp from the BATF last October.

Open invitation for ya.

You do realize that I’m a comedian, right?
I had/have no idea who you were/are and I still don't.

I just like the way you think regarding the 2nd Amend.

BTW, my quote was in support of your video. More fuel for the fire, as it were.

History and human nature tends to be pretty dark.

After agreeing with your response in 67, I'm compelled to call you out on the line above, that's racist :)

Absolutely. The US Army was established in 1775 by the 2nd Continental Congress. It has been in continuous existence since then. At the time of the ratification of the Constitution the US Army was 12 years old.

Ask Catherine Englebrecht (YouTube link) about that.
They've already come for our words.

The “Puckle Gun” was basically a machine gun well before 1776.

Did all 11 shots fire from a single flintlock strike? Or was it a semi-auto?

Turn a crank. As the single operation of turning the crank continues, more shots occur. (This in contrast with the pull-release-pull-release of a semi-automatic.)
Not quite a “machine gun” as legally defined today, but so close as to make no practical difference.

Gatling gun then. Not an auto. Each shot fire requires additional human action.

Thanks.
