Bryn Mawr College, an all-women’s liberal arts school in Pennsylvania, clarified its admission policy on Monday to accept transwomen and individuals who “identify as women” when they apply.

The Board of Trustees sent an email announcing that it had voted unanimously to update its admission rules, which were previously open to “female students only.”

Bryn Mawr has a co-op arrangement with nearby Haverford College which was until 1980, all male. So when you were taking those clesses there would have been a lot of men on the BMC campus taking classes not offered at Haverford. Since Haverford went co-ed, the co-operation between the two schools has slowly diminished, and Bryn Mawr is much more a single-sex environment today than it was then. It has hurt the school in a lot of ways, though they do get a lot of applications from very conservative overseas countries.

Why should one have to identify as a woman? On the very surface this is discrimination against men.

How can they NOT accept them and expect to retain any credibility for their rationale? They can’t on one hand push the agenda, then not live by it themselves.

"“Those assigned female at birth who have taken medical or legal steps to identify as male are not eligible for admission,” the Board of Trustees said."

Not only are they just stupid monkey insane, but crazy hypocritical! Guess Cher's daughter is not going to feel "included". Her and her skank Mother should be out on the streets protesting.

Let me help with their slogans:
"I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SAY, I'M AS WEIRD AS ANY GAY!".
"RAH, RAH, SHISH COOM BAH, I BUILT PENIS, I'M GOOD FOR NOW"

Still waiting for LGBT community to push for incest and pedophilia. Oh, wait, forgot about NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association). Can't believe those pedophiles haven't been sh*t de*d where they stand, not that I encourage violence.

Sometimes I feel bad for these poor pathetic mixed-up creatures. I just don't get why some men with all their testosterone have no interest in women. I've always adored women and everything about them. I have "lust in my heart" (as Jimmah Cahter said) for my wife and love her femine ways. She is THE most beautiful thing in the entire world.

“Gender Is A Social Construct” was always the semantic equivalent of “Let’s Pretend And Reality Are The Same Thing”. Social theorists are chronically unhappy people anyway, and even if they’re stewing in their own juices it’s somebody else’s fault. It’s sure infuriating the old-school man-hating feminists, though. I’d call that a win-win.

If I forge a note from my doctor saying I identify as a woman, will they let me into the college?

Gym class and the locker room should be fun........

Well, that explains it!

It was a very different place from my home college - which had just admitted women a year or two earlier.

But it was the only institution w/in commuting distance that offered a course in Scots Gaelic. :-)

yes, and for all the cultural progressivism that I find somewhat tedious, Bryn Mawr is still a very serious academic institution. (My mother went there, and I went to Haverford!)

And that's a good thing.

I gave up on my alma mater when they hired Peter Singer. My daughter went to Davidson College instead. They haven't fully bought in to the cultural progressivism (at least not as of her graduation in '10) and her views as a political conservative and orthodox Catholic were fully respected there. Free academic discourse has pretty much died at Princeton.

I wonder if they will have to get medically certified?
Is it enough to just "“identify as women”?
Can you change teams during your matriculation?
