We made it to Cali and back with no mishaps, and not nearly the traffic we encountered last weekend. We had the engine unloaded and on the hoist by 1730, and found some things to forage on, so we had a while to relax a little from the day before we turned in. As usual, I was the first to retire. ‘Face just doesn’t have the stamina that is needed to function properly for a full 12 hours.

Busdaddy will have some help in the next few days, to get the engine in and get all the fuel and electrical lines hooked up once more. Next come the transmission. And racing season has already started!

I’m still tired, but I can go to bed early tonight.

Sparkle was REALLY upset with me and if she hears me walk, she still bawls me out. She’ll be OK by bedtime....poor floofy.

I trust that the daily climate change has brought a warming trend as compared to this morning...

(It was right around that, maybe a bit lower - I didn't pay attention - and the outdoor cat's water bowl was frozen here in the much-farther-North this morning. It now says we are at 40° and going down to 26° over night.. Spring has been postponed but the daffodils are still trying to make an appearance.)

Also had two Black Vultures in the yard when I left for Church. When I feel like wandering outdoors, I will check if they consumed the dead possum that was for a while concealed in a snow bank and just lately had become visible again...

Ah, yes, frozen food.

We get the buzzards here too. They seem to like sitting on the light poles around traffic intersections. Now that ought to make people think, wouldn't you think? But it doesn't.

They just keep motoring around with their cell phones occupying their attention, and the buzzards overhead already.
