Being Mitt is out of the picture, and we can make a pretty good presumption of a final 10 or so candidates, let's see if we can narrow it down to four potential candidates and come up with a "Final Four Any Combination Ticket". Is it safe to put Scott Walker in the mix? How about Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz? Will the "Veep" be a Senator/Congress Member/Governor not in the race? Lets hear some of your predictions. You can even choose your top two choices and their likely VP picks. Odds are most of us will put either Walker and Cruz on the lists. But Jeb Bush? Maybe not?
BINGO!
Mike Lee has stood shoulder to shoulder with Ted Cruze and others through the onslaughts of the neo-communists.
He has earned his reputation and will be a great contributor to Conservatism.
.
LTC West would make a mighty fine first BLACK AMERICAN President, IMHO.
All Hail The Dauphin Bush!
And his running mate, Son Of Paul!
Cruz/Martinez. There is no other logical choice
Ted Cruz
Scott Walker
Sarah Palin
Mike Pence
Cruz and Lee-tag team for upholding our Constitution.
my four—
1 Ted Cruz
2 Rubio
3 Walker
4 Jeb Bush
for vp?
1. Bolton
2. Mitt
3. Mike Lee
4 Perry
OK. I have read the postings and am ready for my 2 cents worth.
For those folks who are saying it is either Cruz or Palin, I say - why on earth would you want Sarah Palin at the head of the ticket? She was find in 2008, but for 8 years she has been trashed by he media and she has contributed to some of their disdain in the past few years by some foolish antics. I still like her philosophy, but in no way could she win an election and she would drag the party down with her.
Second - at this time, why on earth would anyone make a declaration that it is X or Z - and if not, they will not vote??????? Keep up this foolishness folks and we will be seeing President Hillary Clinton in January 2017.
Third - tone it down at this point about amnesty. What is amnesty anyway? Is it all illegal Latinos? Is it some illegal Latinos? or is it that no illegals or their children should be able to become citizens? This issue is very complex. The MOST IMPORTANT thing for our security is to first get that southern border closed so no more illegal aliens can come through our southern border. That is the issue we need to concentrate on. Everyone here ought to contact their congressmen and senators and let them know we need a secure border. As far as amnesty is concerned - any type of amnesty must have certain conditions enforced - and without these conditions, the illegals are sent south of the border. Working in the USA and paying taxes for a minimum of 10 years; Born in the USA to illegals, but educated and now either in the US armed forces or working at a good job and paying taxes.
My group of four for POTUS are: Cruz, Walker, Rubio or Kasich. I also like Jindal and Perry too. I would prefer a governor - but I really like Cruz a lot.
As for VP, another newer face might be good. I like Susanna Martinez, Gov. of NM; Greg Abbott, Gov. of Texas; Sen. Mike Lee; Congressman Trey Gowdy.
Please remember Freepers - if we are not united, the left will trample us again!
and now the most un-acceptable list:
1. Huckabee/ Trump
2. john McCain/ Jeb Bush
3. Trump/ Geraldo Rivera
4. Sean hanity/ Mark Levin.
WALKER / CRUZ 2016 and for the next 16 years after that!!!!!!!!
Great post!
I was just researching Walker and except for pathway to citizenship he's everything I want. He's an articulate speaker and has lots of passion. He took on the unions. He's pro-life, pro-traditional family, against common core, great on the second amendment, for voter ID, drug testing for welfare recipients, get rid of obamacare, no to legalized pot, fought the EPA and won, balanced the budget and did something so taxpayers got a rebate or refund, and his father was a baptist minister. I know he'd be a lot better than romney bush or Christie.
I’m waiting for all candidates to be thrown into a WWE ring & the last man standing will be the candidate.
The Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register Iowa Poll, taken Monday through Thursday, shows Walker leading a wide-open Republican race with 15 percent, up from just 4 percent in the same poll in October. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky was at 14 percent and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who won the Iowa caucuses in 2008, stood at 10 percent.
Bush trailed with 8 percent and increasingly is viewed negatively by likely Republican caucus-goers. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is in even worse shape, with support from just 4 percent. More troubling for Christie: He’s viewed unfavorably by 54 percent, among the highest negative ratings in the potential field. At 9 percent, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson pulls more support than either Bush or Christie.
How about Cruz/Carson with Mike Lee as AG and Rand Paul as Surgeon General.
Don’t be a hater, I’m just pointing out what I THINK the ticket will ultimately be:
Bush/Cruz.
The GOPe will get their boy and they’ll throw Cruz on the ticket to get the base back in the fold.
WHEN they lose, that will position Cruz better for 2020 IF he can keep from having the “Palin Treatment” stick to him. Ronald Reagan became President not just because he was what the nation (as opposed to the uniparty) wanted, but because he was, as the derisively named him after trying every smear in the book: Teflon-coated.
Cruz will have to be Teflon-coated to win, and just like Reagan, it won’t be his first time out (2016). (I wish this isn’t true - that Cruz won’t get the nod in ‘16 - I hope I’m proven wrong, and I’ll be making a sizeable donation to Cruz for the ‘16 primary.)
I fully expect the uniparty to name Cruz to be VP to checkmate the GOP base.
Now, I would NOT vote for that ticket. IF el Jeffe gets the nod, and they try this schtick (and I expect them to do so) that’s the best ticket because it would get us to Cruz four years faster (in 2020 instead of 2024). To get to Cruz in ‘20, el Jeffe will have to go down in 2016.
From my POV, a Jeffe/Cruz ticket almost makes it mandatory to help ensure it crumbles so that there’s a better choice in ‘20. YMMV and I’m not sure that would be a majority position.
I’m also completely sure that I’ll be swamped next year with how if I DON’T vote for Jeffe (with Cruz on the ticket), then I’m voting for Hilary.
*This same strategy could work for Walker or even, in the GOPe estimate, from Huckles, but I don’t think they’ll go there. Ryan was from Wisc. and didn’t help the ticket, they’ll likely not try a small state VP again. I know Cruz is from Texas and not a “swing state”, but a Cruz strategy would be about solidifying the base, much like Palin almost drug the old bastard across the finish line.
That’s my take. If I’m wrong, I doubt anybody will remember I said this a year from now. If I’m right, I won’t let anybody forget I called it a year out...
Cruz only so far
The GOPe will get their boy and theyll throw Cruz on the ticket to get the base back in the fold.
The GOPe doesn't throw bones to the conservative base.
Reagan was pressured into a Reagan/Bush ticket, but it doesn't work the other way around.
and just for laughs, what about the final four for the Dem’s? lets see, Hillary, Ronald McDonald, Dennis Roddman, and Richard Gere.
