Yes, I too had to hike barefoot through the snow on the way to school and it was uphill both ways.

And I didn't have an iPhone either.

This morning...5:46 AM we’re at one degree with a real feel of minus 10. I can feel the change in the air here from last night. With snow of six inches coming in Sunday. No fun since we still have crusty snow from this last storm!

I remember walking to school when it was so cold your knees were red raw by the time you got there....prickled and itched as you warmed up.

Uphill both ways actually meant you climbed then descended a hill. Used to be able to sled on the way down.
