You left out zero flavor for the tofu. ;)

I relax my eating on the weekends, a bit. I will allow bread a couple of times a week. I had one slice today in a half a grilled cheese that I did not finish. The shakes are 190 calories each, and really quite satisfying. I like raw veggies for a snack during the day to keep me feeling full. It’s working. I accidently pulled a pair of jeans that are a size smaller, wore them without even realizing it, though I noted they were snugger. I just thought I had cheated too much on the diet and gained some. LOL I guess I should be changing out my wardrobe soon.

I went to Sam’s Club to restock on shakes today and treated myself to a new shirt in a smaller size.

True-it is like Jicama-meant to be used in salads with other stuff because both pick up the flavor of the other ingredients, rather than having a real flavor of their own.

That is fantastic-I’ll bet you are over the moon-that is a major milestone, and nothing makes a woman feel better than fitting into her jeans right.

Last month, I found a place online to get nice jeans cheap enough to also wear for work, so even my jaded self smirked and turned around in front of the mirror, pleased with myself when I put them on.

It’s a protein, which is better than a snack that is just sugar.

and I thought this all started with Tioga having no cookies. Peanut butter toast would be better than cookies.

Anything other than sugar is better than sugar, but nuts, seeds are healthier, and crunchy, too. Fresh fruit has natural sweetness/sugar and apples have crunch, just don’t overdo it.

Thank you! The customer’s house actually has a bit of the old SW hippie look I intend to give the nest I build, just way more over the top gaudy/busy-I’m keeping the cheap re-do list I put together, though-I’m not convinced she will stay with the clutter much longer than mid-summer.

I could fade the comfort food, but I would be unhappy being snowed in with no beer and SATtv...

What is the entrée going to be?

Try drinking a glass of water and munching some raw veggies while you cook dinner-I do that when I make less-than-healthy stuff with a tempting aroma for gatherings. Picturing yourself in a pair of your favorite style jeans, in the size you want to wear is good, too...

These are good tips you are providing, but I have to know. Have you ever been more than 10 pounds overweight? Pregnancy doesn’t count.

Not overweight, but in the late 80’s, I ended up with 3 bulging/herniated discs from a work-related injury on a jobsite. Given the choice by the company’s comp carrier, I chose to avoid surgery- since I was told it would not restore my full lifting capacity or make me pain free-opting for PT, work hardening and other conservative therapy and no drugs.

The PT told me that if I would slowly drop about 15 pounds from my 123 and maintain the lower weight, even though I wasn’t over ideal weight, it would take some pressure off, and be beneficial. He was right-I cut out what few carbs I ate, and over a few months, the weight came off, my energy increased and the backache lessened.

I’m a bit below an ideal weight-if such a thing really exists-for my height, but I can do a physical job, I have energy and I eat healthy. Those tips I posted are ones the nutritionist at the PT clinic gave me.

It makes sense to maintain the lower weight and practice good body mechanics since I intend to work the rest of my life, but I think it is just healthy eating more than a diet.

That PT also turned me on to an opening for a comp case manager with a degree in social work at a company that contracted with the clinic-I applied for it, got hired, and worked in that field till 2001.

I’ve grown so tired of the WH denizen who becomes such a poltroon when it comes to defining Islamic Terrorists.
