And halter tops! I had forgotten all about them until looking at that video.
Ronnie Van Zant appears to be wearing a Neil Young t-shirt in that vid, which is pretty darn funny (Young’s “Southern Man” / Skynyrd’s “I hope Neil Young will remember, a Southern man don’t need him around, anyhow”). It’s the image from Neil’s Tonight’s the Night album. You can see it first at about 1:07 into that vid.
I saw them last Summer. They played all of Close to the Edge and Fragile, that was the show. Steve Howe can still play guitar like that, and Chris Squire bass. They sounded great.
Actually, if you want goofy characters, just go to the bottom of my FR profile page and cut’n’paste to your heart’s content. I keep a set there.
Why Thank You!

Yeah...I do too. It is easier than trying “alternates”
Best band of all time,,

Oh stop. Not even the best southern rock band of the 1970s. Not given the reality of the allman bros.
/personal opinion
I had planned to go see them at the Sportatorium, but had some excuse not to, something to study for, probably, I don't remember now. I figured I'd catch them the next time they were in town.
Sometimes life doesn't give a second chance. I appreciate reading your post. It's good to hear that someone has the memories I wish I had.
Zeta4, now that brings back memories. That and 103 SHE, and Y100.
Which then made me remember lmao at that era's Saturday Nite Live and the first season of Fernwood 2 Night.
Man...I'm feeling old all of a sudden. Like my refrigerator magnet says: "Time flies whether you're having fun or not."
The Outlaws were also a local band I really liked.
Looking in the mirror and then back at the 70s and 80s, I now know what they mean when they say you can't go home again.
I also better understand what Don McLean was saying in "American Pie" and about the day the music died. May the South rise again!
