True! I think I belong to the group who fear for our children and our grandchildren more than for ourselves. We have seen a lot and they are still of the belief that everything will stay the same. I would say before obozo arrived on the scene, I would have agreed with them. What an evil, rotten person he is to have finagled his way into power over us and the people who made sure he was in the right position at the right time to fulfill their agenda. I read all the conspiracy stuff over the years - Bilderbergers, None Dare Call It Conspiracy etc., and still wasn’t as nervous as now.

I know there is ONE who has the POWER and it’s not the mealy mouthed obozo enablers....that’s where we can take solace and refuge. I need to keep remembering it...for my sanity!

“”The change tactic doesn’t work because you won’t carry enough. $48 in quarters for gas? Not.””

I wish I hadn’t come back to this thread but since I’m here - pumps won’t be pumping gas after an EMT, will they?

Can we come up with things on this thread THAT WILL BE WORKING that maybe we can get a ray of hope from???

“”Also, Ferfal says drive a ‘beater’”

Which is? I’m guessing an old car but not sure.....

I drove a pristine ‘78 Chevy Malibu in CA - purchased brand new and sold it when we moved to GA in 2006. I wish now we’d kept it. It had less than 80,000 miles on it; new paint, upholstery, headliner. Loved that car; never comfortable in a new car when I can’t see where the front end ends. I wasn’t the little old lady from Pasadena who put few miles on a car but pretty close to it. Never drove the freeways but knew my way around on surface streets in OC.

Would that have started after an EMP??? I’d like to have a golf cart or something we could get around in IF AND WHEN?????

There will still be large tanks of fuel, and various normal & creative uses for it.
There are many scenarios outside of EMP which may make life difficult.

Nonetheless, you miss the point. Paying in quarters for everything to conceal how much cash you have is impractical for the sheer mass required for practical purchases.

Forstchen has another one out about ISIS ops in th U.S. called “DAY OF WRATH”. ~144 pages, scarier than “One Second After”, and even more realistic. May not let the Missus read this one as she will be after me to increase the arsenal and the class V stocks by at least 02x ARs and a long gun with really nice scope. ....

Wait a minute....

“MAKE MY DAY”!

Not a bad motto - keep the fire burning!

Looked this up and it is a very terrifying scenario. I don’t know if I’m up to reading it. The plot would be everyone’s nightmare. I do not believe the schools in this country have taken the precautions/security they need - not after Beslan and not after Sandy Hook. There would be no shortage of parents willing and able to provide security at no cost to schools but then the school districts would cite “liability” as a reason not to allow such security.

Another tragedy is in the making but will any lesson be learned from another one? I think it’s safe to take the position of NO! There are many freepers who say the problem could be avoided by home schooling as if that is an alternative for everyone or make sacrifices and pay for private schools. Kind of like democrats who think they have the answers and know what’s best for everyone.

The standard pumps might not be working, but the storage tanks would have gas in them. An intelligent gas station owner would figure out a way to hand-pump the gas out of the tank, and into standard 5-gallon containers. Then allow you to put the contents of the container into your car for $X (or barter).

I would think that at least a few gas stations have a hand-operated pump in some back room, for emergencies.

AH! The same way we pumped gas into tractors and vehicles on the farm when I was a kid. The gas truck came on Mondays and filled the tank.
