yep, I remember in the 80’s when the IBM CE was dispatched for a hardware service call. It was someone who spoke English and wore a dark blue business suite. Most times a three piece.

Today I get someone on site wearing shorts and a t-shirt who is of a different culture. Non American.

My how times have changed.

Yes, they had a lot of customer service engineers traveling the country during those days, doing service calls. All of them had the dark suits and white shirts and ties. They used to fill up hotels and airports around the country.

Even to this day, you can get a discount on your hotel room by using "IBM" as a promo code.
