I favor gay “civil unions” if anything, with severely limited parental rights (no adoption). It is what it is.
Nobody cared about the children’s welfare a generation ago, when state after state started liberalizing divorce laws. Far more children have been harmed through their parents’ divorces. That was the fatal first blow to traditional marriage, and in some ways we are now attempting to revive a corpse now.
