My Dad said that at the time, I recall. He was in the Navy at the time (San Diego) and I remember he met Bucher briefly at a VFW.

His wife was a high school classmate of my Mom. She met him at a class reunion after he was released from North Korea. Mom said he didn't say much at the event.
