Another attempt to remove the tubes today. They wanted another day for lung congestion to diminish. Her O saturation held well when she breathed on her own. She is definitely ready to verbalize!

I was told going at the beginning that recovery would be long, slow and fraught with difficulty along the way. That was correct.
And there HAS been improvement from the low point two weeks ago and that gives me great hope.
Yesterday, I got a video prayer from a child with Down’s - “God bless Julianne!”
My heart almost exploded. Now my monitor is all blurry.

Realized that I used her real name. Oh well. Guess I will trust that to be only for the good.
