We have seen everyone rush to defend islam in all those other attacks. In this one, France has turned on them. The Mayor or Rotterdam told them to Fu@k off if they don’t like western freedom. The leader of Egypt gave a speech that has told islam that the world hates it because if how it acts.
Everywhere except within the US government, the tide has suddenly turned against them.
Big things often have very small events that start them. A few gold nuggets at Sutters Mill. A thesis nailed to a church door, an Archduke and his wife shot, a bombardment of Ft Sumpter, a small riot in boston and a one volley of musket balls.
Islam is only wounded in the public opinion of Americans and some others. In practice, it is thriving quite nicely, thank you.
Also, France brought something else to the equation. France has utterly embraced them and given them no reason to attack France.
When they attacked France, and were caught on video murdering that wounded cop, that told France who these guys are. But when simultaneous attacks broke out the next day at the deli and the print shop, THAT told France that they really do need to be stopped. And then yet a third attack was broken up in Belgium yesterday.
People over there are realizing that no amount of accommodation will make moslems view them with gratitude. That is why this one is different. Only the USA and Sweden still don’t get it.
I will settle for America thank you.

I gave my suggestions. But I think we simply should no longer accept the politically correct. Fight back by talking. Let them know we are no longer playing by their rules, but ours. We are not going to change. It is up to them to change into Americans. Or get out.
A caller to Rush today said that since the “administration” refuses to call it Islam why are we giving them prayer rugs and Korans and such? If they do not represent the “religion” then why do we pretend they do in giving them the artifacts of the “religion”. Feed them pork and beans and let them pick the pork out of the beans! Well said-—Sharia law is not religion or really even based on religion. It is no more than make-it-up-as you-go tribal management. The “laws” are never written down, just made up by the leadership at the time, to fit the situation at hand. To the extent that any of it is based on the Koran that tome alone is nothing more than Moohamud’s attempt to justify his own life style. Muzzies need to be continuously called out and forced to explain where their faith ends and tribal management starts. It seems that islam will be the last of the major religions to face up to the notion that civil society cannot be operated by the one book their religion is based on-—not if they claim that personal salvation is the goal of their religion.

In the context it was used back in the day, it was referring to separate Christian denominations. They were called “religions” back then.
One reason for that clause was because a certain denomination wanted to be the OFFICIAL “religion” (denomination) of the United States.
Back then the majority of people here were Christians of different denominations.
They were fleeing the religious persecution prevalent in Europe at that time.
Sharia law is not religion or really even based on religion. It is no more than make-it-up-as you-go tribal management.

My comment was on the words in the 1st amendment.
Muslim, maybe not “because of his religion” but if anyone wants civil rights they must be civil. You know, not beheading, killing etc.
The predominate belief system back then was Christianity.

It's almost like they are channeling Sharpton.
