No the country is suffering because of you and people like you. You will never agree with a candidate 100% of time. You gave us eight years of Obama and brought this country to its knees with communism and socialism.
First, the only people who “gave this country” Obama (snort at the rhetoric) are people who actively voted for him. Second, you can’t vote against a candidate. Third, voting your way is what got us to this point. “Let’s all just take whatever candidate the rest of the GOP chooses! YEH!” Stockholm Syndrome at its finest. It’s like att of you have been in an abusive relationship and don’t know how to leave.
Tell me something I don't already know. I would have voted for Gingrich in 2012 if he had been nominated, and BELIEVE ME when I tell you I sure as heck didn't agree with him 100 percent of the time, but I'd have voted for him anyway because on balance, he articulated limited government conservatism.
I OPPOSED virtually 100 percent of Romney's governing philosophy as exemplified in his STANDING RECORD and RECORDED STATEMENTS. For an informed Republican conservative, voting for Romney was as nuts as voting for Obama, so I voted third party in order to reduce the popular mandate of whichever leftist won, Romney or Obama.
YOU, on the other hand, voted to increase the popular mandate of a leftist Republican. WORSE, you deceive yourself in pretending that you were voting "against" leftism.
I'm beginning to believe there is a certain group of people here who are posing as conservatives but their main goal is to make sure the conservatives don't get out and vote. You will never agree 100% and if they don't agree on social issues - then we shouldn't vote at all or cast a vote for someone who has no chance to win, therefore we get the Democrat candidate. I've tried to keep my mouth shut on this and I know it's time for me to give up on FR for awhile because this is going to get heated AGAIN. I've already had one chewing out from a person who I think is a little off their rocker - I'm not going to argue with a fool, it's pretty useless.
The reason we have this revolt in Congress is because of US, the voters who voted for the most conservative candidate possible- otherwise there would be no conservatives in Congress at all because none of them would be conservative enough to vote for. We're getting there, it just takes time. It took 30 years to get in this mess, it's going to take a fight to get out of it but if our side has already given up ( the "I'm not voting!!! so there" crowd) then we have already lost.
