Maybe it’s free for anyone less than 3 ft tall.

Sounds like our local UPS driver. We had a pair of Labs that would scale a 5' fence every day and go off *wandering*....when the UPS driver found them a couple of miles away, down in town....he'd coax them into the truck with a biscuit and brings them back home to us. It was a routine...and the hounds *loved* it.

I fear a follow-up to this story will have the bus route driver losing his job over this breach of company policy. No good deed....

I am afraid of that as well some busy body or muslim will complain. I am also very afraid that my Lab will not stay in the yard. We are working on it. She can't go wandering. Ranchers don't like dogs wandering on their property. Sad world we live in.

We’ve been Lab owners for decades. We have found that males are more prone to wanderlust than females.

I know that doesn’t help any. Good luck with your pup!

No, that helps. She vacillates between wanting to literally be on top of me and running off. She comes home before to long when she does get loose.

Teach her "heel" and transfer it to the 4W.

Once my Lab got "heel" she would heel 5 feet off my left stirrup when we were trail riding. She loved going along. My mare was a solid citizen who wouldn't kick, even when the hounds ran under her belly during a fox hunt.

What a great story! Dogs do sometimes attach themselves to locations.

Good idea. She’s still not a good heeler. Mine and natures fault. We literally live up a hill and it’s been so cold and icy here that I can’t get her out where I will be safe to work on her manners. Soon though.
