If you present your case for a name change that is valid then I am sure the moderators that be would consider a name change (or deleting your old posts)...
If running for office and you don’t want your comments to used as ammunition against you Jim might let change (or delete).
If using your real name has you in fear of being punished it is possible.
I am not a mod, never even played one on TV. Take my post w/ a grain of salt.

I’m sure that mine gets some people to wondering- in fact, my “Barak” is stolen from a character in a series of books. I started using it as an online handle in local BBS’s about 20 years ago. Danged if I’m gonna change it for that useless POS in the White House.
