The money he paid for the ticket should be refunded to the man he should be given another ticket.

I see a lot of old folks scratching tickets in the 7-11 peaking lot. Something about it makes me... Uneasy? Disappointed?
To: workerbee
Smells like a scam to not have to pay out for otherwise winning tickets.

Too bad Mr. Gambler, you’re out 20 bucks. Care to try again?

One ticket is $20? What happened to $1/ticket?

It was already worthless. The misprint only made it appear valuable.

Great way for the state to cop-out of paying.

I’ll go against the crowd. Pay the winning out. Besides, the lottery official said their excuse was that this was a ‘malfunction’, which is not listed reason to pay out.

Gambling sucks. It is designed to enrich the agent of the game at the expense of the players. I don’t tell others what to do but I definitely don’t gamble.

It should be no different than misprinted pricing. Tough s*it, you’re obligated to accept the price listed.
Don’t get the printing wrong. Plus, too easy to not pay out...not a good enough excuse imo.

The odds of him getting a misprinted ticket are probably about as great as hitting the lottery. I say they should pay him.
