Yeah, it’s obvious it is a misprint. Sorry dude.

Gambling sucks. It is designed to enrich the agent of the game at the expense of the players. I don’t tell others what to do but I definitely don’t gamble.

The money he paid for the ticket should be refunded to the man he should be given another ticket.

Why?

It should be no different than misprinted pricing. Tough s*it, you’re obligated to accept the price listed.

Don’t get the printing wrong. Plus, too easy to not pay out...not a good enough excuse imo.

We also don’t need busy bodies fretting about what other people fret about.

The odds of him getting a misprinted ticket are probably about as great as hitting the lottery. I say they should pay him.

The “game” on the tickets is only window dressing and mean nothing, the winnings are determined by the barcode on the ticket. You don’t even have to scratch to win. If the barcode said he was a winner he would have a case.

Why?

Because a refund is due for misprinted tickets according to the state lottery rules.

From the article: "NMLA is not responsible for lost, stolen or misdirected tickets," reads a disclaimer on the back of the ticket. "Liability for void, altered or misprinted tickets or disputes, if any, is limited to the refund of the retail sales price."

Also from the article, the state offered him $100-worth of free tickets, which he turned down. So, by the rules, he's due his refund. Other than that, I have no sympathy for him. It's clearly a misprint.

Thank you for that information. I have to admit I did not read the entire article...oops.

Guess he should have taken the $100 since he was not due anything else but a refund.

FReegards.

I guess it's just me, but had I been shown why it was a non-winner, I'd have said, "okay", and left it at that. I wouldn't have gone to the news. Especially if they were going to give me $100 in free tickets.
