Never thought it possible, but I’m a Seahawks fan next week. Packers cheap-shots on Romo at least twice...late hits.
I’m sure to be in the minority among Lions fans, but I wouldn’t mind if they let Suh walk. Use the money to fill holes on both sides of the ball, hell I’d even look at a QB to put some pressure on Stafford’s job.
Yes, GEEK call. (as was last week’s reversal vs. the Lions)
Ruined the NFC playoffs.
Now comes the coverup for the sponsors of the Insurance-Truck-Auto-Banking Loan racket.
This is the official rule on receptions in the NFL:
“If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.”
Moving on, TD Denver.
He did he made 3 steps with the ball.
He was not in the act of catching the pass when he went to the ground. The pass was already caught, control maintained (he had total control as he held the ball in one hand and stretched out for the goal line), THEN he hit the ground.
The rule was misinterpreted. Bad call.
Whether or not he had control makes no difference to me (but not according to my hubby) since the ball did NOT go over the goal line first. In this video, the ball hits the ground inches from goal line. Right where the ref put his foot.I know VERY little and arguing with hubby over whether or not it made any difference (he finally went outside) The call may have been “he didn’t have control” BUT even IF he did the dang ball hit the ground first.

Couple of pass-happy AFC finesse teams... Hoping it’s a good game and the Colts don’t do another Indy-Dallas performance...
No love for Dallas, but I thought it was a completed pass. Tough way to lose.
IMHO control equals possession. This play should change the rule for next year.
They would have lost anyways. Rodgers had four minutes to get a field goal. They way he was in the fourth quarter they weren’t stopping him.
The ref ruled that he went to the ground in the act of catching the ball. Many will disagree but that is why Pereira was saying he didn’t make a football move. He was agreeing that Bryant was still in the act of catching as he went to the ground.
The league will clarify the call later this week and tell whether it was called correctly.
YMHO isn’t the rule book. According to the rule book, that ain’t a catch. I doubt it will change it, this rule has been around a long time, and everybody except the competition committee hates it.
The Golden globes is on Downton Abbey also on
OHHH Man I Miss Mystery science theatre 3000 I wish Antenna or METV Carry that on Saturday night one of these days
I never even insinuated my opinion(which I’m entitled to) was the rule book. Rules are changed every year...we’ll see.
It won’t be. People have been complaining about this rule forever. I remember the fat guy back when SNF was on ESPN hated it, it’s still here. The world rose up against it again when Johnson had that TD over turned, it’s still here. I don’t like the rule either, but it ain’t going away. Largely because nobody can come up with a good rewrite for it.
