Hidden Cash Financed US Lawmakers Turkey Trips

From Ankara to Istanbul, Capitol Hill lawmakers and staff took 159 privately sponsored trips to Turkey during the 113th Congress, putting the nation second only to Israel in popularity as a foreign destination.

But a recent report suggests hidden sources, never vetted by the House Ethics Committee, footed the bill for five-star hotels and dining during some members all-expenses-paid jaunts.

A Turkish religious movement has secretly funded as many as 200 trips to Turkey for members of Congress and staff since 2008, apparently repeatedly violating House rules and possibly federal law, a USA TODAY investigation has found.

Rumor on the USA Watchdog thread fwiw

Greg,
I’ve ran across some rather disturbing information over the weekend. I’m sure you’ve heard about the bulk cellphone purchases and stolen propane tanks in Missouri?

Over the weekend one of my sources claims he talked to a Pratt County Kansas deputy who has told him that DHS is in Pratt Kansas investigating three empty Chloride Gas Train tankers found abandoned on an isolated track. It just seems to coincidental to me that this would be occurring at about the same time that the propane tanks went missing. Two plus two. Cell phones for detonators. Propane gas as delivery mechanisms. Chloride Gas…….well we all know that is the gas of choice on the battlefield in the middle east. My recommendation. Be alert during the Christmas Holidays and avoid large gatherings. I sure hope the hell I’m wrong.
