The Chinese, who have all the plans for the plane, really really like it.

The F 35 is going to be missing some armament for a few years.

There was a time, when a pilot could whip out his 45 pistol and take out an enemy plane, for instance in WWII.

I’m pretty sure that my love of that plane is prohibited somewhere in Leviticus.

[DISCLAIMER: I’ve never had the honor of serving; I just love the A-10 that much.]

LOL — that's funny.

I’ve never had the honor of serving; I just love the A-10 that much.

That's ok — While I was in, I never was involved in anything that required CAS so I never had first-hand experience… but I knew a lot of guys who did, and the A-10 was always referred to fondly.

I worked with a guy who was shot down in Viet Nam by a guy with a rifle. I believe that he was in an F-100.

The A10 was built to support ground troops. The F35 was built to provide government pork contracts.

Based on what I’ve read on the F35 I think I would like to pull all the old A1-E “skyraiders” back into service before I let my pilots and ground troops depend on the F35.......

Is that what I read about the software wouldn't even allow them to fire the gun?

I saw a Skyraider about 10 years or so ago at the Chino Airshow... That aircraft is a BEAST.
