well, i gotta say, you got a good story out of it. :-)

“I was a tomboy and didn’t like to wear dresses, so I looked like a little boy in my jeans, sneakers, and t-shirts. Almost 40 years later, Mom still insists that I looked cute and didn’t look like a boy.”

Looking back on it, how did you think it was to be seen as a boy versus a girl with respect to the apparent expectations and burdens versus the privileges?

Probably should have thrown my name out there as the Freeping Female who fired back. Seriously, some people have no sense of humor or their knickers are always in a twist.

“Argumentative bitch”? Sheesh

“Sounds like she always has an answer for everything” Whatever

It was all in good fun and I’m rather glad you enjoyed it. My friends found both perspectives to be quite funny. Happy New Year. I have a bubbly headache that I must sleep off.

That guy is great. VERY funny, and also very good information on dealing with the differences between the two sexes.

“Takes one box out, discusses only what is in that box...”

vs.

“And this wire is touching this wire that crosses that wire, zing, zing, zing...”

Dorothy Hamill, did not have a bowl cut, and was one of the prettiest women of any age...her combination of athleticism, vulnerability and beauty caused more 13 - 17 year old boys to lock their bedroom doors so that their annoying sisters could not come barging into their rooms unexpectedly...If you had had a Dorothy Hamill, Huntress, you would have been beautiful. If it was more of a Jethro, probably not so much...

Its likely the easiest time in American history for men to have sex

But probably the worst time to be married

I’ve got nearly 60 years of dealing with women

They are the best thing going...especially in the breeding years

But they are insanely difficult generally and truly do defy reason

I think the traditional roles of the past 3-5000 years were likely there for a reason

One I love women with my life

Next day I can just as easily detest them

Happiness and contentedness is not a natural state for them long term

And they are cruel to one another...very

Women who prefer men’s company and eschew girl power bullshit

Make better mates

But its drama....regardless

There is no easy answer

If you put a penny in a jar every time you have sex during the first year of marriage and remove a penny ever time you have sex after the first year, you will never remove all the pennies.

I hope my desire for your gender never ends

Its simply an incomparable thing

Which is why we put up with the frustrations stuff

If you love someone and its mutual the physical bonding intimacy and intoxication

Is without peer in the experience of life

And from that coupling of two souls comes second best

Babies...your blood... the extension of your being same as you represent those before you

Its so obviously Gods plan plainly visible to anyone with open eyes

A rib well spent.

I hope all here get at least a taste of it all

I was at one point amazed by it and asked how it's done. Apparently, you fake crying and while beginning to do so remember something that actually did make you cry. The combination of going through the motions and summoning the emotions will make genuine tears. There is no stigma for women crying, and often it's rewarded. The more manipulative learn this lesson all too well.

Here's an update for you. I spoke to my husband last night and he hasn't seen much of this, but he says that he believes some people are capable of it. He thinks that people who are very emotional to begin with can probably make themselves cry on cue.

But, the more interesting update is regarding the conversation I had with a female friend about this last night. As soon as I started talking about whether or not women could cry on command, she started nodding her head. She told me that a woman she works with recently wanted something from her husband that she knew he wouldn't want her to have (not sure exactly what the situation was) and she told my friend that all she'd have to do is make herself cry and she'd get it. Sure enough, it worked. But, my friend also said that she can't imagine being able to do that or even wanting to do that. And honestly, I don't have any friends who would do that. Maybe they did when they were younger, but certainly not now in our fifties.
