We should be appreciative that there was an ‘ebola scare’.
It was like a ‘vaccination’. We are now better prepared to prevent a spread of the ebola virus.
Actually, the flu shot even if not effective against the current strain can lessen the severity of a case of the flu due to some cross reactivity.
At our local nursing home where we are overseeing the care of an aunt the woman in the office told me eleven patients died last week.
Got a flu shot. No flu so far. Evidently, the shot covered only 3 strains. It was a crap shoot as to what strain(s) might run the country this season.
My doctor swabbed my sinus walls and did a culture.
This sounds surreal. Where is the news coverage on this.
All three of ours (six, three, and 15 months) had bacterial pneumonia. We wouldn’t have known except for their fevers. Our doc was impressed at how “well” they were with pneumonia. High quality multivitamins, extra D3, and gobs of probiotics help!
Flu shot no match for H3N2 strain reported across Canada

The problem is each year they have to try and guess which strains are going to be the problem. This year they missed and the strain that is dominant isn’t one that the vaccine covered...
got a note from my kids school today that one of the kids in 5 grade just died from this. prayers for his family.
My kids and I got the vaccine ... wife didn't. She got the flu ... we didn't. I guess my kids and I are among the 40%.
Me too, all of the wee ones got it, and almost all of my extended friends and family have gotten it over the last 4 weeks, but luckily so far, I have avoided it by drinking plenty of alcohol. I will say one thing, the one and only time I have ever gotten a flu shot, I also got the flu. I refuse to get flu shots no matter how much pressure I get from work and family.
I’ve been getting the vaccine every year since I had a cardiac arrest in 2008. Orders from the cardiologist. Haven’t had the flu since. However, that might also be because in winter I don’t go out much. I avoid a whole lot of infected people that way.
Take Vitamin D3 and forget the flu shots.
I haven’t had one for two years.
My doctors keep telling me to get a flu shot, do I want a flu shot, blah blah.
I just tell them the truth, I have never had the flu in my life. I don’t get colds
anymore, either. I’ve had many nasty colds, but there are only so many strains,
and once you have had them all, you’re immune to all the ones you had.
Two people I know were in the hosp with pneumonia and/or flu in last few weeks, and my mom and I are sick with something that is moderately bad. If I had no responsibilities and had insurance, I would go to the doctor, it is borderline bad enough.
And I haven’t gotten the flu either.
What most people don’t know is that every year when they develop the flu vaccine its a guessing game as to what variety of mutation will occur. Many years the actual flu that mutates is not the one the vaccine covers. My understanding is that this year is one of those years so if you got the vaccine its worthless.
We gave up vaccines about 6 years ago. Just take your heavy D3 dose everyday, wash your hands and stay away from crowds like the Mall. We also drink an elderberry tincture everyday during flu season that Mr. GG2 makes up every year. Very easy to make and effective.
I'm 71 now and very fortunate health wise. No Meds!! Just a one a day vitamin.
If I get a sniffle...I have Vit C, honey and lemon and...poof....it's gone.
My fever lasted one night and was gone the next AM.If it hung on I would have seen the DR
