FLORENCE, Ky. – Briana and Kaitlyn Himes said they feel lucky they're not planning a funeral for their parents after five adults overdosed on heroin at their parents' mobile home Saturday.

While the adults got high and passed out, three children they were supposed to be caring for – ages 1, 11 and 12 - were in the house with them, according to a Boone County deputy's report.

The Himes sisters said the adults might have died if their uncle, Michael Young, hadn't arrived just in time to save them.

“Hopeless, uneducated white trash.”

Addiction doesn’t give a damn if your educated or not, an educated person should know that.

OK, then I will. Jail for the slugs posing as adults. Kids sent to a warm, kind, MORALLY UPRIGHT adoptive family. Enough said.

(Wanna bet the adults are collecting taxpayer dough?)

Merry Christmas.

Today Kentucky is know for its blue meth, trailer folks snorting horse and civilians cooking up crystal meth using their grand pappy's secret recipe.

Helps splain why Mitch McConnell won his primary.

Sorry, a zillion other clues led me to referring to them as white trash besides their apparent low IQ. They ARE hopeless, the whole amoral, irresponsible, stupid lot of them.

Too bad about the kids, though. Look at who should be their role models. By the grace of God something horrible didn't happen.

You’re not kidding. I got opium for pain after my open heart surgery. It was pretty routine surgery but quitting the pain medication was a bad several days.

“...our local VA is spitting out addicts one after the other.”

I think it is medicine in general. Most of us legitimately need pain meds at first. Most doctors are not proactive in encouraging patients to get off them ASAP.

I had multiple surgeries over one year, and no doctor said to me: “be careful, I want you off the meds ASAP, and will help you.” It was quickly clear to me, I could become dependent on narcotic pain meds, without wanting it to take place.

I think many doctors leave it up to the patient to either get themselves off drugs, or to have problems.” There is a “pain” specialty in medicine, but it seems they are prone to use drugs, instead of get you off drugs.

I have read that one of the biggest medical issues is seniors, shut in, and strung out on pain meds. They never thought in all of their years, that they belonged in an AA or NA meeting, but some of them could use it.

Our meeting hall has hosted “pills anonymous” meetings, with good attendance.

So many people both young, old, educated or not are addicts and they just won’t admit it. That’s why admitting to others that you have an addiction problem is such an important step to sobriety. It is the first step and unless you can do it you have little to no hope of sobriety.

Yes. Yes.

Yes, I know you were just being sarcastic, but the only negative I can think of about turning back to the social construct of 1950 is that there was, indeed, racial discrimination against black people.
