Try accessing Youtube through this URL:

https://www.youtube.com/html5

Do you have any music files on the machine? If so, try playing one through Media Player. (or put an adio CD in the drive and play it) If that works, it’s a YouTube issue, if not, then choose the audio speaker in the lower right hand corner of your screen, choose Mixer, and see if you have Device Speakers muted. In theory, everything after the mixer’s the same, so if you’re hearing system sounds, your sound card’s working.

That is true because some sound on some videos are muted through Youtube because of copyright infringement issues.

That’s what I thought earlier- but whenever I try a link to view a video- even on fox news- there is no sound. I went to Verizon online to listen to ring tones and still nothing. UGH!
