It's also argued that one can be a “citizen” of a city or town without being a citizen of the U.S

Sure and aren't we all just citizens of the earth?

We are the World..

We are the Children...

Yes. Everyone should vote, but only if they vote Democrat.
(Progressive, Communist, leftist, whatever.)

Conservatives go to the Gulag.

I don’t want a slimes cookie just to find out. Please tell me. Is their conclusion that non-citizens should get the right to vote?

No.
Where is the reciprocity?
Can I move to Mexico and vote before becoming a citizen? Or any other country? Didn't think so.

Of course it is, so they can have their Stalinist multicultural North Korean nirvana.

Sure, why not? I’m sure if I moved to Germany, England, Japan, Korea or Venezuela (to name a few) and didn’t obtain citizenship, they’d allow me to vote, right?

Geez, do these people have the brains they were born with?

Sure, that’s how all the other countries do it, right? I’ll be voting in the Chinese elections next Fall and then UKIP a month later.

One man, one vote, one way, one time.

After that, all future questions are not open to referendum. The science is settled. The people have spoken, now shut the hell up.

From the article: But the answer is not to sever voting — or jury service, for that matter — from citizenship. It is rather to expand the circle of citizenship.

It's a plea for amnesty...surprised?

Over a period of the last 15 years the LA Crimes has run an ongoing series of pro-illegal alien stories. The is just the next logical step in their minds.

Liberals can rationalize anything.

When it's in their interest to do so. In this case, they are running out of voters. Their lunatic policies are being rejected by everyone except Blacks, the free stuff crowd and outright Communists. That's not enough to win elections, so they have encouraged widespread illegal immigration who will provide a reliable voting block. Voter fraud hasn't provided enough votes either, so they must permit non citizens to vote.

It's all about votes.
