Ansell, an electrician, has a display on his yard that features a beheaded choir, a hanging Mickey Mouse and even a urinating Santa Claus that lights up at night.
“There was a Virgin Mary here, and he placed a knife through her head, right there on the edge of our driveway,” Joanne Hebda told “20/20.” “I thought it was a terroristic threat.”
To make matters worse, his neighbors said, Ansell also tacked up profane signs all over his house attacking the township and neighbors personally.
The worst sign, the neighbors said, included disparaging remarks about neighbor Tom White's late wife, posted the day after she died.
“Why would somebody even do that?” White told “20/20.”
One sign on Ansell's home may offer a clue as to why. It says, “This display is dedicated to Ross Township. Shame on you for destroying my display that brought so much joy and happiness to so many people.”
Years ago, Ansell's home was known for its lustrous lights and dazzling display that attracted many onlookers.
But one Thanksgiving, Ansell's neighbor Pamela Heck was so blinded by the lights that she asked him to turn them off while her family had dinner.
“It was very unpleasant between us after that,” Heck told “20/20.”

The 1st amendment wasn’t formulated for speech that we all can agree on.
Well that puts my neighbor problems in perspective.
Holding a grudge and bitterness is a bad thing....
Sounds like a stupid argument between neighbors.
One of them choosing to be the better man and apologizing would probably correct the situation.

The fact that he still has teeth in his head tells you my name is not Tom White.
hehe. We just had a neighbor disagreement of sorts last night. Now everyone around us thinks we are crazy I am sure. And I am not sure that’s a bad thing.
Surely that’s not the same Ansell2 that posts here on FR??
I always wanted to do a Calvin & Hobbes snowman extravaganza but it’s tough to do in Florida.

It’s obvious that this guy is one of those people who put Christmas Lights to get attention. The Season itself has no bearing on his motivations. So when a neighbor voices objections to his need for constant attention, she becomes his avowed enemy. This man must not have much of a family or social life. He seems to think as a 12 year old would do. Very myopic and self centered.
Time for a ninja suit and wire cutters.

As with most things, there is no doubt a lot more to this story.
But you know what? Other than the profanity, which wasn’t shown in any pictures on that site, it’s a free speech issue.
If he wants to hang an effigy of Mickey, it’s his business.
The Virgin Mary with a knife through her head would sell as fine art in NYC. I’d be calling art galleries.
Kind of makes the humping reindeer seem tame in comparison.

The neighbors are being nice to this unstable, angry man. In some areas I know, his house, auto(s) and other property would be suffering periodic small (below the standard insurance deductible amounts) damages by unknown persons. He would then have some real reasons to be angry.
