I used to work for a competitive power company in TX, based in Canada (thanks 0bola), that had such vast resources at its disposal, it bought energy for its customers FIVE YEARS in advance. They buy it now to hold off 0bola's price increases.

It's also clean power, from coal and CH₄, to atoms, windmills, and solar panels.

When I left, their price per hour, was 11²∕₅¢. With all taxes and fees included.

Meanwhile, the effective hourly rate for energy from Texas Utilities (the incumbent provider) was anywhere between 13½¢ 17¹∕₅¢. I even saw a customer paying TWENTY cents per hour with them.

Forgive me if I sound like a salesman here; I'm just trying to illustrate the effect that 0bola's environmental regulations are having on people and businesses.
