Shortly before taking his own life last week, former Fox News correspondent Dominic Di-Natale, 43, sent a text message to a close friend letting her know where authorities can find his body. That is one of many new details emerging from the story of how Di-Natale took fate into his own hands and ended his life before neurological illness consumed him.
Over at the New York Times, Ernesto Londoño paid tribute to his close friend, and revealed what led the war zone reporter sent to his fatal decision.
Some details: Di-Natale indicated he had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder in October 2012, quietly seeking treatment before noticing other physical ailments. In a letter to an unnamed friend, Di-Natale wrote that he hid his problems for fear of social indignity and stigmas and the implications for my career.

Took us 3 scans and 4 Doctors to find a tumor the size of a plumb in my wife’s brain. She kept losing her balance so we kept going to Dr’s until we found the right answer. That was well over 10 years ago and though she lost the hearing one one side and got Bells Palsy on same side from nerve cut she is doing just fine. 64 and she still cuts my framing lumber while I assemble whatever it is we’re building.

Sorry for the early end to, by all accounts, a pretty nice guy.
His condition may have affected his judgment. When a physician tells a patient that nothing can be done, that should be a motivation for the patient to look elsewhere for a solution.
If he had neurological illnesses, he may not have been in his right mind OR even had PSTD...
