I went through the adserts in my local Sunday paper. Total of 40 adserts today. Only 5 Used the word Christmas. I don't know what holiday the other 35 were referring to. These are the retailers that used the word Christmas in their ads that were in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel today.

Menards, A Wisconsin based hardware chain that operates in the US Midwest.

Boston Store a Department Store based in Milwaukee, WI part of the Bon-Ton group

Michaels. Michaels is North America's largest specialty retailer of arts, crafts, framing, home décor & seasonal products for hobbyists and DIY decorators.

ToysRus Toys "R" Us, Inc. is an American toy and juvenile-products retailer founded in 1948 and headquartered in Wayne, New Jersey.

Dick's Sporting Goods. Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc., or Dick's, is a Fortune 500 American corporation in the sporting goods and retail industries headquartered in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.[8]

I only looked on the front and the back of the adsert for any reference to Christmas

Well it’s obvious where Christians should be shopping.

Those five stores would get my dollars.

If a store wants to be cute and not use Christmas, then I will be cute and not shop there. I know, Christmas is not supposed to be about all that, but they make it that.

They keep advertising for anti-Christmas “holiday” shoppers, and they are always surprised by poor sales.

The other 35 must be celebrating Xmas .... as in x the unknown.

‘We have no idea why people give gifts at this time of year or what the gifts represent, but please buy our stuff.’

If you listen to the “holiday shoppers” most are not buying gifts for others but buying for themselves.

I sometimes contact merchants that refuse to use “Christmas” in their ads to give them a piece of my mind.

Down here in Southern MS, I get “Merry Christmas” from folks at Loews/Wal-Mart/the tax office/my Credit Union, and a host of other places. Even teachers send home missives with the sentiment.
