OKLAHOMA CITY – Formal charges are pending against a high-profile abortion doctor in the metro.
Now, one of his former patients breaks her silence over what she calls ‘the worst experience of her life.’
Dr. Patel was arrested earlier this week for fraud.
Investigators say he lied to women in order to charge them more for abortions that were, at times, unnecessary.
Unlike the undercover agents Patel falsely identified as pregnant, this woman was pregnant when she went to his office.
She also has a heart condition that was making it a very difficult pregnancy.
She claims Dr. Patel lied to her about how far along she was in order to charge her more money for an abortion.
The 39-year-old woman made the biggest decision of her life a few months ago.
Her heart is enlarged, causing a lot of complications during the first few weeks of her pregnancy.
“I actually felt like I was having a heart attack a lot of the time. I’d gone into the hospital on two other occasions with chest pains,” she said.
She decided to get an abortion and went to see Dr. Naresh Patel at his Warr Acres clinic.
He said he would charge $1,100 for the procedure.
“I went back, and they quickly did this ultrasound and he immediately said ‘You’re two weeks further along than what you’re telling me,’ and I said, ‘I don’t know how that could be,” she said.

Imagine the torture for eternity that is in store for murdering her baby.
Actually the media is trying to be sympathetic to the woman. They justify the abortion as being health related. It is a pro abortion article.
I saw the video. Okay hers is that rare exception of actual “health/life” of the mother. She has an enlarged heart and yes I can see that would be a bit of a problem.
I don’t know if an early C section would have helped I am not an OB/GYN. If there are any FReepers here with medical knowledge by all means do tell.
Like torture? Wasn’t too pleasant for the baby either.
Like I said in post 5 she does have an enlarged heart. I’m not a doctor.
I do know this however, most doctors today at the first sign of trouble in a pregnancy does not matter if it’s with the baby or mother they want to encourage abortion. If this woman did not have a good pro life doctor more than likely that is what her doctor told her to do, so she did. Sad but true. If I were in her shoes I’d want a second opinion, know what I mean?
Blood volume increases by about 50% during pregnancy, heart rate by about 20%. Women with pre-existing cardiac problems may go into heart failure with the increased load on the heart, perhaps before the baby is able to survive outside the womb.
They have to occasionally, when the horror show gets too much for even them to ignore.
I don't understand why she wasn't seeing an OB/GYN and why a she felt the need to go to an abortionist for "care."
A real doctor would have been monitoring her condition.
