Apple has its head up its collective arse. The shortcomings of the iPad are evident. Wouldn’t be hard at all to have a full-fledged word editor and other features commonly found on laptops. It would not have hurt them to add removable/upgradable memory either.

Apple will resist removable memory because they want to maintain control of the copyrighted media libraries stored on iPads. Those libraries are often worth more than the device, and Apple does not want people swapping them around.

It would not have hurt them to add removable/upgradable memory either. Uh, Pages, Microsoft Office both free for the iPad. . . you obviously have no knowledge of what's available for the iPad.
