iOS 8.1.2 is available for updating your iPhones, iPads, and some iPod touches. It is an over-the-air update and can be done by updating your device by going into Settings/General/Software Update and following the prompts.. — PING!

Apple IOS 8.1.2 Update Ping!

If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.

Hmmm.

It is hard to tell what is NOT included on their list for the update.

I hope the older iPhones/iPads that it is NOT recommended for excluded from updating.

If you have an ipad 2 and have not updated to IOS 8 - DON’T. It will degrade performance substantially and cut your battery life in half. I wish Apple had warned me about this. My ipad 2 was my first Apple purchase and will probably be my last.

Ok, can someone give me advice on this? I use an iPad mini, but I think it’s the second version with retina display. That’s not listed as compatible for this update. I tend not to do the upgrades on the OS until I hear that the bugs are fixed. Should I try this one, or skip it?

I have an iPad Air which continually locks up for 10-20 seconds quite frequently especially when typing since “upgrading” to IOS 8.

Very annoying. But there is no way back to IOS 7x. My iPhone 4S will remain at its pre-IOS 8 level. Why tempt fate?
