Against the vehement protests of his adult children, 51-year-old burger baron Harvey Howard registers as a freshman at Pinehurst University and promptly rushes a fraternity. Howard struggles to overcome his age in making friends and immersing himself in college life. But as Howard begins to adjust to the academic environment, he develops a crush on his beautiful French professor Helene Gauthier that results in a serious campus controversy.

Blake Edwards-Director, Bing Crosby, Tuesday Weld & Fabian.

... results in a serious campus controversy.

What a "serious campus controversy" looked like in 1960, marching with torches to the home of the college president in a PEACEFUL protest! A time capsule and idillic view of campus life before the radicals and government took it all over.

A fun watch that also is repeated through the week so you can watch football and this later.

Remade with Rodney Dangerfield both versions are very good.

De mortuis nihil nisi bonum (Speak not ill of the dead) - as they cannot defend themselves. [smile]

In reality it appears he was different from his public persona BUT that probably applies to a great many of Hollywood and Politicos of all eras. From sex to other non-accepted behavior, there was/is a lot of sinning going on!

Still this is a good feeling movie.

Somebody needs to off Bill Cosby (joking) I guess.

I think my favorite Bing Crosby movie is one of his earliest, “The Big Broadcast” (1932), which also featured musical guests like The Boswell Sisters, Cab Calloway, The Mills Brothers, Arthur (the Street Singer) Tracy, Kate Smith and others. Burns and Allen were in it too, as I recall. And Stu Erwin.

Only der booze, der tobacco and der womens! What I found interesting is recently watching Holiday Inn and it's Minstrel Show for Abraham's holiday with Der Bing and so many others in Black Face! Couldn't believe that the station didn't cut it, especially now.

The title is an obvious referral to the common phrase "Its high time you ..." and is an emphatic demonstration of the morphing of the language. Similar to the morphing of the word 'gay' and the subsequent 'problem' with seasonal singing of "Don we now our gay apparel" without wincing.

Sorry for the confusion, but I was commenting on Der Bing not Der Movie and sadly.............or not, I am quite old enough to comprehend the titles of old movies and the HIP language of the times.

All terms from a cookbook.

On a scale of 1 to 10, Tuesday Weld was a 15.
