Protesters storm Apple store and Macy's in third day of anti-racist demonstrations in NY

Protesters have staged a third night of rallies in New York following a grand jury's decision not to indict white police officer Daniel Pantaleo over the chokehold that killed black father-of-six Eric Garner.

Authorities attempted to appease the crowds by insisting prosecutors will consider charges against the officer who fatally shot 28-year-old Brooklyn father Akai Gurley in November.

And Eric Garner's daughter, Erica, revealed she does not believe racism played a role in her father's death.

However, hundreds of people gathered at various locations in the city - and elsewhere across the United States - to denounce the use of deadly force against minorities, which they believe to be motivated attacks under the guise of control.

More than one hundred people stormed into an Apple Store on Central Park South and Fifth Avenue to stage a brief 'die-in,' sprawling on the floor of the crowded showroom as shoppers and employees watched.

It was a brief departure from the peaceful rallies of the previous two night and the group left without incident after about five minutes.

Similar demonstrations were staged at Macy's flagship department store in Herald Square and at Grand Central Terminal, one of the city's two main rail stations.

Police stood by but allowed the protesters to briefly occupy both locations.

Some stores in midtown Manhattan shut early in response to the recent unrest.

Representatives of Best Buy Co Inc and Target Corp said the companies had temporarily closed stores early as a precaution....

Leftist organizers are using Ferguson to rehearse the Big Ugly "Leftist organizers are using Ferguson to rehearse the Big Ugly "Multiple far-left groups are using Ferguson as a pretext to rehearse widespread civil disobedience when the Welfare State taps the brakes.

The scaling down of the Welfare State in America is not a question of “if,” but “when.” The status quo is unsustainable.

“Unsustainable” is one of those Washington D.C. words with a history of meaning little -- like Foggy Bottom’s use of “unacceptable.” But unlike unacceptable, unsustainable, when applied to the Welfare State, is a derivative of mathematics -- a major determinant of the wealth of nations.

The American Welfare State is unsustainable -- destined for significant downsizing by cold, impassionate, apolitical Arithmetic.

All except the most hardcore leftist pols inside the Beltway know this to be true, but it remains mostly unspoken."....................

Remember the 5 month-long siege on Wisconsin's state capital early in 2011?

_____________

Democrats Unveil the Weapon of the Future "..........At the same time a campaign to recall Republicans who had voted for [Gov. Scott] Walker's budget was put into motion. (A smaller number of the Democrats who fled were also targeted.) These recall elections are still overhanging the senators.

With the bill headed for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, the left next targeted an ordinary state Supreme Court election, importing hundreds of thousands of dollars in an effort to defeat incumbent David Prosser, a centrist conservative, in favor of Joanne Kloppenberg. Thanks to a comically inept local election official, it seemed at first that they had succeeded, but when the smoke cleared, Prosser had won by a healthy 7,000 votes.

And finally, we have the latest purported incident, in which we are asked to believe that Justice Prosser, in the midst of a discussion in the chambers of his liberal opposite number Ann Walsh Bradley, suddenly and apropos of nothing bounded across the room and attempted to strangle her in front of most of the other justices. The man is even worse than Clarence Thomas.

This is an extraordinary series of events, of a type that we haven't witnessed before. Even more singular is the legacy media's insistence on covering the story (with the exception of the siege of Madison, which got the standard "unions unbound" treatment) as if it were commonplace to the point of boredom. It is no such thing; it is an ideological campaign of a magnitude and breadth that we have not seen in quite some time, if ever.

What all this amounts to is the baptism of fire of what I have taken to calling the "liberal superstructure." This superstructure is the vast constellation of advocacy groups, think tanks, single-issue outfits, unions, and various other flotsam constructed by the left over the past half-century or so. There are literally thousands of these groups, ranging from the ACLU and the Sierra Club with their hundreds of thousands of members to the local "Friends of the People's Venezuela" outfit which amounts to a retired feminism professor and her six cats. These organizations are ubiquitous, universal, and networked to a fare-thee- well. They are also liberalism's last great hope of controlling politics in the United States."....

These “die ins” are just riot organizers testing the waters to see what the police reaction will be. They are likely preparing Feruson-style “protests” later on.

Police tolerate this lawbreaking at their/our own peril.

Excellent summary of what looks like the left’s make or break, all out assault on their attempt to regain their chokehold on goverment control. I think the American people are fed up with their tactics and the liberal ideology. We’re living with the results of liberalsim. Sucks, doesn’t it?

I just realized that the Leftists never call the right "Communists".
They'll call us everything in the book accept that and Socialist.

I'm feeling left out of the loop, I want to be called a Communist.
Maybe they're afraid that the public will look it up and see what it is
then relate the Left with it, rightfully.

This guy should have been indicted. I don’t agree with the looting of course, but damn — that cop had no business being that aggressive when faced with passive aggression ... that’s what arm lock and thumb locks are for. It would have been better for him to take a billy club and knee cap one of his knees.

Well two things... Enforcement of any law may result in death.... a minority business owner called the cops on him - a black precinct cptn gave the order to arrest (he was on probation), a female black sgt was there at the time of the arrest.

Also, this cop has some history (see: Eric Garner choke-hold cop sued in prior misconduct cases...) He shouldn't have been on the force but the union protected him.
