Sorry, I disagree. In "Boogie Nights," he produced range in his character, as a confused, sexually-curious teen. In "Ted," he was also good.
Just my opinion. I know FReepers hate Hollywood with a passion, but I'm a huge movie buff.
Good thing no one in this crowd is on the pardon board.
Are you making a supposition about me? That I would just make it up? Why not spend 5 minutes and do a google search before attacking someone’s character. Boy, if that got you irritated at me, imagine how repulsed you will be at Marky Mark. Let me guess, you heard he goes to church 3 times a week so he has to be a good guy, right?
I am a big fan of movies as well. We disagree on this. Have a good night.
I don’t know one way or another, but there’s nothing anti gun in the article you linked.
So, I guess we conservatives have to imitate the liberal-progressives and stand on anger and hatred. There’s no room in us for grace and hope, hunh? (And please. Don’t write me with something that starts, “We can forgive, but . . . .” That’s so lame. Jesus didn’t go to the cross saying, “Hey, I’ll forgive those who accept me, but I won’t forget.”
marky wants some weapons.
” I can’t think of a musician who has transitioned into films seamlessly like Wahlberg did——
Frank Sinatra did————and kept on singing also.
Wahlberg wasn’t much of a musician.

So? There are tons of celebs and politicians who are publically anti-2nd-Amendment in public, but won't step out their front door without either carrying or making sure they're surrounded by people with guns.
I believe its an obstacle to his restaurant expansion in some states.
I am not sure what a pardon would accomplish.
He served his time and he seems sincere in his repentance.
But really...I don’t care. Leave it up to his victims. If they can forgive, it’s fine with me.
I do have some mixed feelings about it. It does sound like he’s trying to be a better person, but at the same time he seems to be making excuses for his formerly bad behavior. He was only 17 at the time, but minors are often charged as adults. They were going to charge him with attempted murder but he got that reduced to assault, so he’s already gotten a break to some extent.
bingo - that too
I was around Boston and Bostonians then. I’ve never been around a more racist group in my life. Marky Mark is not unusual in that sense.
Most of them have grown up since then.
Here in Hollywood, I know dudes who were in the 2nd unit for Lone Survivor. He really was more pro-US military and is more appreciative of the armed forces. Not a lot of Freepers know this. And these guys work with phony celebs every day on the set.
He’s the real deal when he blasted Tom Cruise for being a pussy comparing his movies to real war.
I’d hesitate in considering that “Marky Mark” was a “musician.”
I thought Lone Survivor made the Seals look like idiots, which of course I know they are not. But I do know that Wahlberg is.
Sorry I jumped ugly on you. This is from his wikipedia page (and keep in mind what this loser is probably worth, yet he couldn’t take the time from making his $$$$$ to find the man he beat):
For these crimes, Wahlberg was charged with attempted murder, pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to two years in Suffolk County Deer Island House of Correction. He ultimately served only 45 days of his sentence.[15] In another incident, the 21-year-old Wahlberg fractured the jaw of a neighbor in an unprovoked attack. Commenting in 2006 on his past crimes, Wahlberg has stated: “I did a lot of things that I regret, and I have certainly paid for my mistakes.” He said the right thing to do would be to try to find the blinded man and make amends, and admitted he has not done so, but added that he was no longer burdened by guilt: “You have to go and ask for forgiveness and it wasn’t until I really started doing good and doing right by other people, as well as myself, that I really started to feel that guilt go away. So I don’t have a problem going to sleep at night. I feel good when I wake up in the morning.”[16]
Probably would like to legally own a firearm.
