The worst one that I know of is “Dem Revolutionär Jesus zum Geburtstag” (To the revolutionary Jesus on his birthday). This Communist Christmas carol is sung by Ernst Busch, a hardcore Stalinist balladeer whose songs include hymns to Stalin and to the Communist regime in East Germany. The tune to which the lyrics are set sounds like it might have ripped of from some old Lutheran hymn.

You can listen to the song here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y954_nX-cWA

Here are the words in English:

Two thousand years have almost passed
since you left the world;
You sacrificial lamb of life!

You gave the poor their God.
You suffered ridicule from the rich.
You did it in vain!

You saw violence and police.
You wanted universal freedom and peace on earth.
You knew misery and wished all people well,
So all would be more beautiful!

You were a revolutionary
And you made life difficult
For the corrupt and the educated elite.

You championed the freedom of the people,
Though they had no use for you,
You came to the fore.

You fought bravely against them
And against the state and industry
And the entire pack.

Until you were betrayed anc caught,
Judicially murdered, without further ado.
It was just like today.

The people were not smart.
Least of all, the Christians,
Despite wringing hands

Your love was in vain.
You died for nothing.
And everything remained the same.

Favorite verse...

How can it be Christmas...
without any beer?

Quote:
“They should’ve done “Yoko Got Run Over by a Reindeer.””

That is great!

Naaah. I mean it’s bad, but not worst ever. Most of the standards are just as simplistic and saccharin. I think I might reserve worst ever for Baby It’s Cold Outside, just because when you really get down to it that song is about date rape.

“Santa Baby” has “Do They Know It’s Christmas” beaten by a wide margin.

Senimental favorite....

Christmas at Kmart by Root Boy Slim and the Sex Change Band.

Christmas at K-Mart, all over the store,
People are buying just a little bit more.
So if you’re still shopping with money to spend,
How ’bout this album by Root Boy Slim?
Christmas at K-Mart, Christmas at K-Mart—

The mood ring counter is all aglow,
When Root Boy starts his Christmas show.
Winos sleep on the hot-air grill,
Hippies all take their Christmas pill.

Cough syrup, sold out tonight,
Those Locker Room users in their usual fright.
That lingerie counter was grab and go,
Shoplifters’ bags on overflow.

Santa got a dose in San Jose,
Come to the K-Mart, wants love to stay.
I must have died and gone to Heaven,
’Cause Hell is Christmas at the 7-11.

It’s available on 45 here:

“The Christmas Shoes.”

Listen to the lyrics. The moral of the story is that some little kid’s mom is dying of cancer, just so the narrator can learn not to be grumpy at Christmastime.

Vomitastic.

The rest of the show was good, especially seeing Brian Jones still with the Stones.

Best part was The Who's "A Quick One While He's Away".
