I carry a 10mm auto, but I am in the mountains and I am concerned about other than urban threats.

My options haven't changed: one a single-stacker 9mm Sig P225, and a single-stacker .45. Both are relatively flat, but limited to 7+1. The problem is I can't carry into most places I work or visit.

The most critical information from the Brown shooting is that only the final shot through the skull was going to stop his attack. Whether using a 9mm, .40, or .45, with a charging animal of that size, the more quickly a round gets into the brain box, the better.

There are some videos of "failure-to-stop" exercises. Pop-pop center mass, followed by a well-aimed, or better-aimed, shot to the noggin. Repeat as necessary. Practice, practice, practice.

Baaah, all you boaters. I was hang gliding and a goose
hit the weapons pod and knocked it down in hostile territory.

I standardized a few years back into 9MM, the .380 was for CCW as my S&W 659 was a bit heavy for IWB carry. That model is built like a tank of mostly all stainless steel, I think it would survive the apocalypse.

.380 in the holster, .45 on the dash.

I’m also thinking about dashboard holsters.

The first “Warning Shot” should be center mass. All shots after that are optional, but may, under most circumstances, be considered a waste of ammunition.

I’ve heard stories .. rumors .. that an old web belt and the side bolts for a CB make a nice combination for a cheap, effective, and non destructive mod for placing a holster in easy reach...

Rumors mind you...

Well that`s what I`ve heard about the long ridiculed .380 cartridge. I chose the Bersa Plus because it`s a double stack, it is a 15+1 yet it`s almost as small as the single stack Bersas I handled. But I`ve carried a mix of ammo depending on weather, frangible DRT, which many say is a no-no, during summer. And hollow point or cast flat nose Buffalo brand during cold months, but mostly all in +P loadings (try finding DRT in +P).

My late friend, a police chief usually carried two or
three HP rounds with the rest being ball. He said if
you don’t stop them with the first three, they will be
behind cover and the ball will punch through better.

Because there is NO WAY you are going to tell her that that holster makes her look fat!

Ruger LCP.380 is always in my pocket but a Glock 27 in .40S&W is within reach or on me if the situation calls for it.

I haven’t really started looking yet but I just want something to keep in one spot and at arms reach. Sometimes I have it laying in the console, sometimes along the seat, and sometimes in the passenger seat. I just don’t want to have to think about where it’s sitting if the time comes I need it. 1 extra second looking for it could be costly.

I may start looking around for one today.

Or states where non-FFL private sales are paperless. In Ohio IF neither of the two persons holds an FFL and the sale is a private to private sale, you check ID to verify state residency and age, exchange cash and done deal. Gun shows in Ohio are most cool events, indeed!
